Entertainment UK appointed by WH Smith to supply DVD

March 1st 2006

Entertainment UK (E.UK) has been appointed by WHSmith Retail to supply and distribute its DVD offer to WHSmith’s 542 High Street stores. The new agreement will take effect from 1 May 2006.

The appointment of E.UK is designed to consolidate WHSmith’s supply chain of entertainment products, improving efficiency and reducing costs. E.UK will work with the retailer on product selection and inventory management for its stores, ensuring compelling entertainment product offers are readily available to consumers.

Entertainment UK will continue to exclusively supply and distribute music products to the WHSmith stores, an agreement which has been in place since August 2004.

Commenting on the news, Ian Foster, Commercial Director at E.UK said, “We are very pleased to be extending the service that we provide to WHSmith. During the past 18 months we have worked very closely with them on developing their music proposition and improving supply chain efficiencies. We are delighted to have the opportunity to repeat that success with the DVD format.”
